One Small Shift...

I went to Mel Robbins’ “Let Them” show last night.
Months ago, when I saw she was coming to town, I checked tickets… and immediately closed the tab. Way out of my price range. I let it go and honestly forgot all about it.
Then yesterday I randomly saw something about the show and thought—huh, I’ll just check. It was 4 PM. There were tickets. And they were a THIRD of the price.
Cue the spiral:
Do I go?
Who would I even go with?
Who can do something last minute in this crazy, busy life?
I considered going alone… but didn’t really want to.
And then all the “too’s” showed up:
I’m too tired.
It’s too cold.
Too windy.
Too much.
Too everything.
And then something shifted—just do it.
I texted my cousin Katrina. It’s 4:22 PM. The show starts at 7:30.
She calls me 30 minutes later… and guess what? She’s in her own swirl of “too’s”: Long day. Kids’ sports. Swimming lessons. Too hot, too cold, too tired…
But—we both love Mel. And we both decided… let’s go.
And honestly? This is how life changes.
Not in the overthinking. Not in the perfect plan. In the moment you take action anyway.
Which, not surprisingly, is exactly what Mel talked about—along with her “Let Them / Let Me” theory.
And it was SO fun. The energy in that room was buzzing with joy, positivity, connection. It was palpable.
Mel reminded us:
Sometimes it’s not about the big leap. It’s the small move. The one step. The tiny decision.
Because if nothing changes… nothing changes.
Where will your life be in 5 years? 2031? Same patterns? Same hesitations?
Or something entirely different?
“Thinking doesn’t change your life. Action does.”
Just turn the dial a little bit, every day.
By 2031… things could look completely different.
How amazing is that.
